Jo Jasani is a London based BAME actress with Birmingham roots and an Indian heritage; portraying a cultural balance that appeals to global audiences. Jo offers a solid accent range that includes USA, Indian, Middle Eastern, Yorkshire and Midlands combined with conversational Hindi, French and Spanish.
Jo’s adaptability to stage and screen ensures authentic storytelling with modern writing or classical work where she also excels with ease. Recent TV projects include BBC 1’s new series Bodyguard led by Richard Madden and Keeley Hawes produced by the BAFTA winning team behind Line of Duty. Jo also starred in new TV sitcom Lala’s Ladies starring and written by Kulvinder Ghir (Goodness Gracious Me). After making her stage debut in 2014 at The Courtyard Theatre in ‘The Possibilities’ by Howard Barker, Jo has since performed in Romeo & Juliet and has been a regular face at Park Theatre.
Jo trained at award-winning Identity Drama School, training ground to Hollywood alumni John Boyega (Star Wars), Letitia Wright (Black Panther) and Malachi Kirby (Roots). Jo’s wide cartable range combined with her versatile, truthful and naturalistic acting style place her in a unique casting bracket with an exciting future both here and in the USA.
